- Available technologies
- IVF (In Vitro Fertilization): Performed using either the husband’s or donor sperm.
- Surrogacy: Implantation of a donor embryo into a surrogate mother is permitted.
- Who іs eligible?
- Married Couples: Legally registered spouses can use these technologies with mutual consent.
- Single Individuals: Unmarried men or women can use these technologies only if they use their own eggs or sperm.
- The right to use a surrogate mother does not extend to:
- Unmarried men who are not the biological parent of the child.
- Women who have no medical contraindications to carrying a pregnancy.
- Foreign citizens (non-Armenians) when the surrogate mother is a citizen of the Republic of Armenia.
- Birth registration
- Married Couples: Both parents will be indicated on the child’s birth certificate.
- Single Parents: Only the name of the single parent will be indicated on the birth certificate.
